Welcome to Corvallis!
I have lived here in Corvallis since 2001 - long enough to know many of the best places and activities in Corvallis. But not so long to have forgotten what it was like to relocate here as well. I want to share with you what we wondered about and needed to know when we decided to move to the Willamette Valley. This web site is a snap shot of Corvallis. I hope you find it helpful and informative.

Corvallis is convenient to most of Oregon's most interesting areas. Approximately 45 minutes from Eugene to the South and Salem to the North and just under 2 hours to Portland. The amenities of the Urban areas are within a short drive. The gorgeous Pacific Coast is only about 2 hours away depending on which area you want to visit. Newport,Waldport and Lincoln Cities are our favorites. There are mountains in several directions if you like to ski, mountain bike, camp or hike. The Willamette River runs right through Downtown Corvallis providing water sport right in our backyard. There are larger water sport areas just a short drive away as well.
Oregon State University is located in Corvallis. Having the University in town really keeps the local culture more vibrant and progressive. The town does breathe a short sign and stretches its arms a bit when the students are on break but the bring a wonderful economic stream and progressive energy into the community that is well appreciated. The Beavers are beloved for their sports teams and game day absolutely consumes Corvallis.
There are dozens of parks in and around Corvallis. Many of those parks are featured in this website because we enjoy them so often. If you enjoy riding your bicycle, this a great area for you. There are bike lanes on many of the main thoroughfares and a few really nice bike paths across town and even one connecting to neighboring Philomath.
There are many reasons to enjoy living in the Corvallis area. The challenges of finding work and meeting people in a smaller community are real, but there are many great resources and networking opportunities to help you.
